Saturday, September 19th and Sunday, September 20th marked the tenth anniversary of the annual Bushplane Days festival - and with nearly 3000 visitors, this year's event was the biggest and most successful to date! Highlights included Air-Dale flights, a special MNR waterbombing demonstration, live musical entertainment and a visit from Spiderman!
CBHC staff would like to thank the centre's dedicated team of volunteers, without whom Bushplane Days would have neither happened nor run smoothly. Thanks go out to performers and exhibitors who shared the floor and the apron with the CBHC's collection and provided two fun-filled days to visitors of all ages. Thank you to MNR pilots for the waterbombing demonstration, Katimavik Sault Ste. Marie for their assistance, the Sault Squires for parking direction, Transport Canada and our emergency services providers at Sault Ste. Marie Fire Services, the OPP, St. John's Ambulance and the Ministry of Natural Resources.
Special thanks go out to Bushplane Days 2009 event sponsors - CTV, the Department of Canadian Heritage, Festivals and Events Ontario, Yes!FM, Air-Dale Flying Service, the Government of Ontario, SooToday.com, the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Aviation and Forest Fire Management (AFFM) Ontario, the Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership Corporation and the Ministry of Tourism Ontario, Algoma Kinniwabi Travel Association, the Government of Canada and FedNor.
The CBHC is pleased to announce Terry Kirkpatrick as the winner of the 2009 Bushplane Days Air-Dale Fishing Trip draw. Congratulations!
We can't wait 'til next year's Bushplane Days! Stay tuned for details, and check out this year's photographs!
