An Evening with Amelia - A Soaring Success!

An Evening with Amelia-
A Soaring Success!

An Evening with Amelia, a special event hosted by the Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre on October 28th, was a great success!

The event introduced the public to the Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre's most recent acquisition, the Fokker Tri-Motor aircraft used in the movie AMELIA starring Hilary Swank and Richard Gere. In addition, a very successful and informative dramatic presentation organized by volunteers and staff highlighted the life of Amelia Earhart, the celebrated aviatrix and subject of the new film. Visitors had the opportunity to have their photos taken inside of the cockpit used for close-up shots in the movie, and were also able to browse the recently re-organized museum floor.

Special thanks go out to the following volunteers who wrote and acted in the presentation, without whom the event would not have been possible: Mr. Bob Thomas, Ms. Kathie Brosemer, Mr. Art Osborne, Mr. Joe Petrolo and Dr. Bob Ewing.

Thanks also to CBHC friends who contributed to the evening: George Ravlich at Crank Sound Distribution; John Stephens, our cockpit photographer; Travis Sharp at Galaxy Cinemas SSM for ten complimentary passes to AMELIA; the volunteer team, who coordinated everything from setup to admissions; Katimavik placement, Katherine and YMCA Rocks placement, Mathew; our various media contacts who provided coverage of the event; and Dave Redmond, our personal videographer and photographer
