The Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre was pleased to host the Prime Minister of Canada, Mr. Stephen Harper at a private reception on Sept. 2, 2009. The Prime Minister was in Sault Ste. Marie making funding announcements as well as greeting local supporters and community members.
The Bushplane Museum hosted over 400 guests who were in attendance to listen to a brief speech by the Prime Minister as well as meet and have a photo taken with him.
Bob Webb, General Manager had this to say about meeting Mr. Harper;
"It was a great pleasure to meet the leader of our country here at the Bushplane Museum. We have had an exceptional summer here at the Centre, we couldn't ask for a more phenomenal way to conclude the summer season!"
The Prime Minister was pressed for time during his visit here in the Sault, but told Sherie Gladu, Assistant Manager Marketing;
"You have a very interesting facility here and I would love to return someday to tour the museum."
