CBHC Welcomes New Additions to its Board of Directors



January 21, 2010 - The Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre (CBHC) is pleased to announce three new additions to its Board of Directors – Alex Campbell, Linda Ryan and Stephen Hussey.
 
Alex Campbell brings extensive marketing, managerial and community committee experience with him to the CBHC. Currently a Senior Researcher and Program Developer with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission (AGCO), Alex has worked with the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation as director of various programs and divisions, and has also been the General Manager of Casino Sault Ste. Marie. He was General Manager of Searchmont Resort during a period of significant growth and development.
 
Linda Ryan has worked for more than 25 years at Sault College and is currently the College’s Director of Community Employment Programs. She is an executive member of the provincial College Sector Employment Services and a member of the Sault College’s Ontario Workforce Development Committee. Active with a number of community youth initiatives, Linda brings with her a wealth of experience in human resources, fiscal management, planning and program delivery.
 
Stephen Hussey is a Chartered Accountant who holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Carleton University. Currently the Finance Manager, Special Projects at Lyons Tim-BR Mart, he has also worked with Brookfield Power and as a partner at Grant Thornton. He is a sessional lecturer at Algoma University and a member of the Rotary Club of Sault Ste. Marie. Steve will be assuming the role of CBHC Treasurer, and we are pleased to welcome his fiscal and managerial experience to the CBHC team.

The Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre is a unique centre devoted to preserving the history of Bush Flying and Forest Protection in Canada. Volunteer members actively acquire, restore, preserve and display floatplanes, bushplanes, waterbombers, and forest firefighting equipment along with other aviation and forestry-related artifacts in order to celebrate the achievements of Canada's aviation and forest fire fighting pioneers. Thousands of people have had the pleasure of learning of the contribution of bush pilots and these machines to life in Northern Canada.
 
The Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre is located at 50 Pim Street, Sault Ste. Marie, ON, P6A 3G4, (www.bushplane.com) where you will find one of Canada’s most intriguing collections of airplanes and artifacts, including the CF-OBS, the first production Beaver manufactured by de Havilland Canada. The Centre is open daily 9am to 6pm from mid-May to mid-October and open daily from 10am to 4pm during the rest of the year.
