Hello fellow aviation enthusiasts.
Just a reminder that the monthly COPA meeting is Wednesday February 13th at 7:00 pm.
Larry Humphrey has coordinated two very special guest speakers for us that promises to provide a very interesting night. We will defer our regular agenda to make way for our special guests.
Veteran bush pilot Warren Wright shares a dramatic story about rescuing his beloved Pilatus Porter off the arctic sea ice northwest of Victoria Island after the Porter lost a ski causing damage to the wing and propeller. The epic salvage operation involved two twin otters, a team of Inuit hunting guides and snowmobiles from Ulukhaktok, a giant 24’ komatik (toboggan) and the Buffalo Airways vintage 4 engine Electra.
Allan Pace, Canoe North Adventures Lead Guide, will share stunning photos of wilderness canoe adventures in the Northwest Territories. From the rugged Mackenzie mountains to the vast arctic barrens north of Great Bear Lake, Al will share some of his favourite tall tales. All expeditions are accessed by way of North-Wright Airways De Havilland Twin Otter and Pilatus Porter.
Warren and Allan have asked that our guest register using the link at the bottom of this page so that they can plan for refreshments.
Please attend and make these Northerners feel welcome in our city.
Hope to see you there and please forward this email to anyone that you know that has an interest in aviation.
Remember you don't need to be a COPA member to attend.
