Canada's vast land mass, sparse population, and deserted North are perfectly suited for aircraft operations. Bush Pilots opened the North. They explored its farthest reaches, established communications between its isolated settlements, and delivered medical supplies and mail.
During World War II by 1943, 3,000 Allied pilots a month were graduating from Canadian air training schools, many of them staffed by former bush pilots. After World War II, the bush pilots made it possible to explore and develop the oil and mineral wealth of Canada's North.
Bush pilots bring our world closer together and remain the stuff of dreams for the rest of us mere mortals.
